The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Lead to act as the primary strategic advisor for a high-value portfolio of community assets. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical infrastructure specialists and site-based stakeholders. This is an immediate start fixed-term contract available in various locations.

You aren't just managing buildings; you are a trusted advisor responsible for ensuring that short and long-term investment decisions align with broader organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Asset Management: Provide expert guidance on asset lifecycles, funding, and compliance to inform significant investment decisions.

  • Stakeholder Leadership: Serve as the central point of contact for assigned sites, building deep, collaborative relationships with executive-level leaders.

  • Service Coordination: Oversee the delivery of nationally consistent, locally delivered maintenance, upgrades, and large-scale new builds.

  • Project Governance: Ensure robust contract and project management practices are upheld across all delivery projects.

  • Performance Insight: Use data and evidence to track project status, financial health, and portfolio trends to inform system-level decision-making.

  • Team Development: Lead multi-disciplinary teams and coach others to grow organisational capability.

About You

You are a senior professional who excels in large, complex delivery organisations where stakeholder engagement is paramount.

To be successful, you will bring:
  • Extensive Experience: A proven track record in infrastructure/property asset management and complex project delivery.

  • Strategic Navigation: Sound knowledge of government processes and the ability to navigate ambiguity in complex environments.

  • Influencing Skills: Highly developed relationship management skills with the ability to consult and influence at all levels.

  • Cultural Competence: A commitment to Māori-Crown relationship frameworks and achieving equitable outcomes.

  • Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification and strong analytical capabilities
